It has only been a few days since the glamour of Christmas and the New Year, but we are already thinking about Valentines Day. So where better to spend Valentines with your loved one, than at Benidorm Palace.

89 Year Old Man Dies In Bull Run In Alicante

Killed at the Bull Run!

A Tragic end to a tragic event in Gata de Gorgos, Alicante, as an 89 year old spectator is gored to death watching the infamous Bull-Run.

Animal rights activists have little sympathy for anyone hurt or killed in "festivals" such as the Bull Run, and right they are. I agree. So when will we learn?
Though some daredevils chose to run in front of the raging 800kg bull as it runs our streets looking for revenge, 89 year old Miguel Sirerol thought he was safe behind the barriers erected by the town hall. However, this Bull charged the barrier ripping the gentleman's chest with its horn(s).
The Town Hall of Gata de Gorgos publicly stated, "We want to express our condolences to the family of Miguel Sirerol, who lost his life during the celebration of the Bull Run"
Is it time we abolished this "festival"? Though many believe the Bull Run, as well as Bull Fighting, is a large part of Spanish heritage and culture, so it is likely to continue, at least for a couple of years.
Others think it is an atrocity, and can only cause trouble. Trouble? Teasing a metric ton bull to boiling point and releasing him into our narrow streets to cause chaos can be trouble? Well of course!
Personally, I believe this "festival" is atrocious, mistreating animals in this fashion is simply unacceptable in this day and age, and though my sympathies go out to Miguel´s family, this shouldn't have been let happen in the first place. Its not a festival, its just cruel. Benidorm Palace Dress Code

One of the most common questions we are asked is:

Does Benidorm Palace have a dress code?

In short, not necessarily.
Though no official dress code has ever been published by Benidorm Palace themselves, we have a few pointers for you.
Benidorm Palace "a night of glamour" is a very luxury venue, so don´t expect to gain entry wearing a vest and swimming shorts.
Though Top-Hats and Bow-Ties are not required, there are a few points we should inform you about:

Gentlemen:

• Tops with no sleeves are NOT ALLOWED. (Short sleeves excepted)
• Shorts in which do not cover the knees are NOT ALLOWED. (3/4 length shorts or full trousers, jeans ets are accepted)
• Sportswear is NOT ALLOWED. This includes Tracksuits, 3/4 length beach shorts, and general "Chavwear"
• Training shoes are allowed (within reason), but Sandals and Flip-Flops are NOT ALLOWED.

Summary:

Benidorm palace is a luxury and glamorous venue, so why not dress up for the evening? You will not feel "out of place" wearing a shirt and tie. With the show starting in the late evening, chances are, you wont be arriving straight from the beach, so take you time and dress up a little for an unforgettable evening at Benidorm Palace

Ladies:

• Beachwear is NOT ALLOWED. This includes Bikinis and bathing suits.
• Boob-Tubes and Hot-Pants are NOT ALLOWED (no matter how much we protest)
• Training shoes are allowed (within reason), but Sandals and Flip-Flops are NOT ALLOWED.

Summary:

Again, Benidorm Palace is a "Dressy" attraction, so you will feel most at home there once you have put on that lovely dress you bought. However, no need to get carried away, its still YOUR night. We still want you to let your hair down and enjoy the "Night of Glamour" at Benidorm Palace
